The
Bus Ministry is a very
important
ministry of our church. We
are very concerned about the
souls and well being of the
boys and girls, moms and dads
in our community. Through
this soul-winning
ministry, we can go right
into the homes of hundreds of
people every week. The
Bible says in Luke 14:23 "...Go
out into the highways and hedges,
and compel them to come in,
that my house may be filled."
If you love children and
long to see people saved and
their lives changed, maybe
the Bus Ministry is where God
would have you serve.
We
have had a Bus Ministry almost
from the day our church first
began. It has grown so
much that today we have 8 routes--7
buses, 2 vans and a shuttle
bus with a wheelchair lift.
We bring in, on average,
about 150 riders each Sunday
from all over the King, East
Bend, Pinnacle, Rural Hall,
Stanleyville, Old Town, and
Tobbaccoville areas, with
a record attendance of 300 on
one Sunday back in 2004. We
have about 30 adults who come
through our Bus Ministry. Several
of these ride our buses though
some do drive their own cars.
In
the last year, we've had over
75 people saved and many of
these baptized. We have
a Sunday School class, the Foundation
of Youth Class, for our
Bus Teens with over 50 on roll.
Some of these young people
have recently surrendered their
life into full-time Christian
service.
Some
years ago, a Youth Church was
started especially targeted
to the bus teens. The
Youth Church is conducted just
like the regular church service.
The service consists of
singing, prayer time, a message
prepared mainly to their needs
and special music sometimes
sung by the teens themselves
as well as by groups from the
main service.
We
also have Sunday School and
Children's Church for all the
others that are reached through
the Bus Ministry. We love
children and we have a burden
for them. But, we do not
stop with just the kids. Our
goal is to reach the whole
family with the gospel of Jesus
Christ.
